Community Garden Application

If you would like to form a New Community Garden at a vacant lot in your community, fill out the form below to proceed with the application process. New gardens approved after May 15 will receive hard resources (soil and beds) the following garden season. If your application is approved, be prepared to lead and recruit a group of neighbors interested in participating. While the New Community Garden will be managed by the New Haven Land Trust, Garden Coordinators and community garden members are responsible for recruitment, labor, and organization of community work days to maintain the integrity of the gardens. Initial instruction, technical assistance, and materials will be provided by the New Haven Land Trust. Upon availability, materials include soil ammendments (such as topsoil and/or compost) in addition to water access, seedlings, and seeds. A nominal fee is asked of community garden members to share and offset costs and supplies.
