Hemingway Creek
Once a tidal wetland, this 20 acre marsh is now dominated by the tall reed grass Phragmites, the result of limited tidal flushing. Exotic invasive plants and illegal dumping plague the upland areas that were created by filling. The New Haven Land Trust owns approximately 8 acres and it envisions restoration to a more natural and diverse habitat.
Location: east side of Quinnipiac Avenue immediately north of railroad underpass.
