New Office, New Possibilities with New Haven Farms

Stephen Grant

Our mission at the New Haven Land Trust is to engage people in stewardship and cultivation of the land for a healthier community and environment. One of the ways we accomplish this is by partnering with organizations that share a similar purpose. Our Incubator Garden program, a collaborative program with New Haven Farms, is a great example of that. They offer a food wellness program and we provide the garden space for participants to apply what they’ve learned and improved their health by working with our team of skilled gardeners.

When our organizations started looking for a new office space, we instantly realized the value in sharing a space together. Though we are still separate organizations, working closely together leaves room for us to continue pooling our expertise together. It helps us to expand our reach and to further provide resources on the importance of healthy eating, farming, gardening and environmental education to more people in the New Haven community. Our new office space also brings us closer to CitySeed, another organization that sees the importance of food justice and environmental awareness.

The possibilities are endless. Not solely for us as organizations, but for the work that we do and the communities we serve. We are looking forward to continuing to make an impact on the people of New Haven. Whether it is side by side or sometimes together, it is a success for us all.
