David Reher has been the Land Trust’s Preserve Manager for many years. Before becoming the Preserve Manager, David leant his expertise as a Board Member. He has contributed immensely to preserving the natural habitat and wildlife of Long Wharf Preserve though his hard work and enthusiasm.

Honored Company:
Sunlight Solar is dedicated to preserving the environment through the use of solar electric and solar thermal panels. They have been a loyal supporter of the New Haven Land Trust throughout the past several years.

The New Haven Land Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to land conservation, environmental education and community vegetable gardening in New Haven. Located just off I-95 and along the New Haven Harbor, Long Wharf Nature Preserve is a triumph of nature over human interference. The preserve, encompassing approximately 15 acres, is dominated by tall Cottonwood trees, which are almost all the result of natural seed dispersion. The tidal wetland and dune area have rejuvenated themselves in the 50
years since I-95 was constructed. The preserve is host to a panoramic view of the harbor and features a trail connecting the shore to the upland.
