Sound Explorers Sailing Program, Age 9-12

Sound Explorers Sailing Program: Ages 9-12

Campers in the Sound Explorers program spend half their day exploring the diverse habitats of the Long Island Sound from land, and the other half on the water learning the fundamentals of sailing! Learn how to sail a small boat, basic boat handling maneuvers, knots, boat safety, and how to work and communicate as a team. Campers develop courage, focus, and tenacity adventuring on the protected waters of the New Haven Harbor while engaging in a science-based curriculum, crafts, and exploring the coastal habitats. We recommend campers sign up for two consecutive weeks of sailing camp to gain more sailing experience.
